Preparation Guidelines

SPEEDLINER PRO Easy Sprayliner can be applied to most substrates, but surface preparation is essential:

  • Pre-painted surfaces: abrade with 80 grit and ensure surface is free from dirt and rust
  • Wood: does not need abrasion but must be clean and dry
  • Fibreglass / GRP: abrade with 80 grit, clean thoroughly, then apply SPEEDLINER PRO AP101 Primer / Bonding Agent

Important: Do not use any silicone-based sealing products.

For best results, use SPEEDLINER PRO Wipedown Cleaner Blend.

Bare Metals (Additional Requirement)

  • Rough sand the metal surface
  • Clean thoroughly
  • Apply a light coat of SPEEDLINER PRO Etch Primer
  • Then apply a light coat of SPEEDLINER PRO AP101 Primer / Bonding Agent

Texture Finishes

  • Apply first coat normally
  • Apply a second coat from slightly further away: approximately 16 – 18 inches from the surface

Fogging Coat Tip (Large Areas)

After spraying large areas, if you want to lose a wet/dry patchy appearance, mix one kit and apply a light fogging coat over the full area from a distance.

Note: Leave all applications free to air.
