SPEEDLINER PRO™ Spray Gun Cleaning & Maintenance Guide
Safe cleaning, protection of gun components, and best practices for long-term spray equipment performance.
Pre-Flush Before Dismantling
- Pour solvent thinners into a spare 1-litre tin and spray through the gun before disassembly
- This clears the internal pickup tube and nozzle chambers ahead of dismantling
- Reduce air pressure to 35 – 40 PSI (2.4 – 2.7 bar) for pre-flush spraying
- Spray into a waste barrel or coating waste container
Critical Component Protection
- Remove the brass trigger pin and O-rings before cleaning the gun body
- Do NOT allow trigger O-rings or brass pin to contact solvents – this will damage seals and require replacement

Step-by-Step Disassembly for Cleaning
- Un-screw the spray nozzle
- Un-screw the pickup tube
- Use the Air Jet Removal Key to remove the air jet
- Remove the end screw
- Remove the trigger pin and spring
- Clean the gun body, nozzle, chambers and pickup tube from both ends using Slimline bottle brush + solvent thinners
- Remove the T-shape key from the kit and take out the air jet for cleaning
- Clean the air jet and gun body thoroughly
Cleaning & Lubrication
- Thoroughly flush the materials tin and internal feed system using solvent thinners
- Clean the gun head and nozzle chambers meticulously
- Lubricate the plunger O-rings with petroleum jelly / Vaseline (keeps seals conditioned)
- Lubricate the trigger pin lightly before refitting
Re-Assembly & Final Clean
- Re-fit the trigger pin & spring
- Re-fit the end screw
- Re-assemble the gun in the same order it was dismantled
- Reconnect to air line and blow through the gun to remove residual cleaning solution
- Gun is not moisture-sensitive and will not freeze in shipping once cleaned
- Use a regulated working air pressure of 35 – 40 PSI during cleaning, and low/no pressure hopper guns for batch mix coatings
Important Material Guidance
- Prepare and mix SPEEDLINER PRO™ separately as per official mixing instructions
- Solvent batch-mix systems may contain VOCs – ensure you check solids content for value and durability
- When reviewing liner strength, rely on sprayed sample test data not cast/poured samples
